If you’ve been in Oregon a while, you’ve probably heard about arguably the most phenomenal basketball team in the history of the state, tiny Bellfountain High. In 1937, David smote Goliath in Oregon’s version of the movie “Hoosiers.” Back then, all basketball teams competed in the same division. Bellfountain, a school of 27 total students, beat Franklin of Portland (2,100 students) in the state semifinals, then beat Lincoln of Portland (1,728 students) for the championship.

Bellfountain gym
The gym as it stands today. It hasn't changed since the high school days of 1937.
I went to Bellfountain school 1966-1973, played in the at gym daily, and got married at Bellfountain church and had my reception in the gym in 1989. What can the community do to help? There is not much news about this. Can we rally the community?
